That is where we will just have to agree to disagree, that darn rulebook is too darn complex to know ALL the rules. If you gave a quiz to all Div 1 coaches I bet you would be surprised by the outcome. I could be wrong but there is no way they know ALL of them, and I stress ALL.
As far as Kiffin, I love how everybody hates him because I love this guy. With the old staff it had become a bland boring program but now, not so much. He has got more out of Crompton this year than ANYONE would have ever thought. This whole coaching staff has my upmost respect. Could just be the UT Homer coming out in me I don't know.

Especially with Cutcliffe saying he was uncoachable.
Re: John Crompton Earned my respect...
Biggin I would bet UTVols2 is closer than you are on the percentage. All know general rules, but I would be very surprised if many know about details of more uncommonly seen rules.

Agreed. You see too many arguing with officials about calls and disagreeing with stuff that even I know.
Re: John Crompton Earned my respect...
i dont mean know all the detailed rules and such, but i would wager he knew that when team A recovers the ball, a dead ball penalty doesnt give it back to the other team.
he was mad and spoke without thinking, UT caught as many breaks as Alabama did Saturday, the late fumble from a guy who had never fumbled before, the no-call on teh PI with Julio in the endzone, etc...
i just feel that taking shots like that, is trying to lessen the win, and the effort put forth by alabama, and UT for that matter.
the game was not decided by the officials, the last play was ruled correctly, it just seems like he was trying to put a negative light on the alabama win IMO
Re: John Crompton Earned my respect...
I bet most didnt know that removal of a helmet was a dead ball foul even in a live ball situation, muchless how its administered. Also, the no call in the endzone on the PTI was a good call IMO. The first contact made was by Julio trying to keep Rogan I believe it was from getting to the ball. If Julio trys going up wiht 2 hands, he gets the call, but with intial contact being a stiff arm to the CB, you are never going to get that call.

What does that have to do with catching breaks from the refs? It was a fumble and clear recovery.
Re: John Crompton Earned my respect...
And speaking of Lane Kiffin and all the publicity he gets........ How many coaches get named in a Lil Wayne video. Go to youtube and type in Lil Wayne - Banned from TV and right around the 1:00 minute mark he says "I talk **** like Lane Kiffin."
Good stuff
